We’re excited to announce that we’ve changed our name from Ronald McDonald House Charities Baltimore to Ronald McDonald House Charities Maryland (RMHCMD)! This new name best reflects the mission of the House as the only Ronald McDonald House in the State of Maryland to provide resources and support for families who travel to Baltimore from around the globe. And this Spring, our NEW House will open its doors to provide twice as many seriously ill children and their families with a “home-away-from-home”.
During this season of giving, our House has been blessed with Gifts of Love!
Special thanks to Medals4Mettle for gifting our kids donated running medals. Check out this coverage on WMAR for more details.
We made gingerbread houses with Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation! Watch the story on WBFF.
We’re excited to announce that we were awarded the Hearts & Hands Award and a $20K grant in recognition of initiatives that provide family-centered services through our Million Dollar Match Game. The Hearts & Hands Awards are presented by RMHC Global as part of the charity’s commitment to share and replicate best practice programs among the organization’s over 275 Chapters located in 64 countries and regions.
“We were thrilled to receive a Hearts & Hands Award as recognition for a fun and unique program that helped us move ever closer to our fundraising goal for our new House,” said Sandy Pagnotti, president of Ronald McDonald House Charities Baltimore. “We developed this game in partnership with our creative team at dlr | marketing, inc. and were amazed at the successful engagement that resulted.”
It’s Official! The final construction beam was placed this morning during a special Topping Off celebration for our new House which is now ready to go under roof at 1 Aisquith Street in the Jonestown neighborhood of Baltimore.
Mayor Catherine Pugh and some of our biggest supporters and closest friends joined us for a heart-filled morning which included
beam signings, a beam raising with 563 dangling hearts representing the number of families turned away from the current House last year due to limited space, and an unforgettable countdown led by 8-year-old Ryder who has been a returning guest at the House with his family for several years.
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to Top Off the new House that Love Built and clear the way for construction to move to the interior as building plans for our new House stay on track. Check out the latest construction photos to see how we’re doing.
We are so excited to officially announce that construction has begun on Our New House! Our groundbreaking ceremony on May 2nd was full of love, joy and celebration as we heard remarks from RMHC Baltimore families, Baltimore City Mayor Catherine Pugh, First Lady of Maryland Mrs. Yumi Hogan, Campaign Co-Chair Bill Paterakis, Guest Emcee Gerry Sandusky, and had a special blessing led by Joe Ehrmann. THANK YOU for helping us reach this important milestone. While keeping the heart and soul of the Ronald McDonald House’s mission front and center with our focus on being a place of respite, comfort, compassion and support, the new House will be a significantly larger, 60,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. It will accommodate 2,200 families annually, more than doubling the occupancy of the current House and replace the existing House.
